Director Matthew Vaughn helped to create the graphic novels, about a scoundrel from a rough area of London who is recruited by his uncle to enrol in a top spy school, and "The King's Speech" star is tipped to take on the part of the relative, reported Contactmusic.
The lead role has yet to be cast; "Savages" actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson was previously linked to the main part, but was unavailable for the shoot.
