The government today said it has received a complaint alleging that NCERT textbooks contain very little and incomplete information about Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani said that the complaint has been forwarded to NCERT for taking appropriate action.
"A complaint has been received in December, 2015, from Hindu Janjagriti Samiti wherein they have, inter alia, alleged that the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks contain very little and incomplete information about Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

"The complaint has been forwarded to NCERT for taking appropriate action," Irani said in her reply.
Regarded among the greats, Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a 17th century Maratha ruler who had carved a stable kingdom under his leadership during the Mughal-dominated phase in Indian history.
