Condition of injured doctor still critical

The condition of Dr Sukanta Sarkar, who got admitted to a hospital with serious injury wounds after bodies of five of his family members were found at their apartment here on Sunday, is still critical.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Kuldip Dwivedi the condition of Dr Sarkar is still critical and his statement could not be taken at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences.

The police were waiting for the post mortem report, he said.

Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIIMS) Director Dr B L Sherwal said that preparation of the post-mortem report would take three days time.

A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Dr Sarkar's Noida-based daughter-in-law, Madhumita, police said.
 

Meanwhile, the police officials of Sector 58, Noida, said that Dr Sarkar's daughter-in-law, Madhumita had come to register a murder case against Dr Sarkar. But the case was not registered as the incident had happened in Ranchi, the police there contended.

The dead were identified as Dr Sarkar's 60-year-old wife Anjana Sarkar, Noida-based Software engineer son 35-year-old Sameer Sarkar, his five-year-old daugther Sunita and Bhopal-based nephew Parthiv Sarkar's wife Momita and their four-year-old daughter Sumita Sarkar, the police said.
