Cong approves Narayanasamy's candidature for Nellithope bypoll
Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy is the Congress candidate for the crucial November 19 by-poll to Nellithope seat of the state Assembly.
Party chief Sonia Gandhi approved his candidature today, AICC General Secretary Madhusudan Mistry said.
The Chief Minister had yesterday met Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
A John Kumar of the Congress had vacated the seat to enable Narayanasamy contest a by-election before December 6 deadline for getting elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly.
