Cong dares govt to order into Young India issue

Congress today virtually dared the Modi government to order a probe into the affairs of Young India, a company in which Congress President and her son are said to have majority stake, in the wake of BJP targetting Sonia and Rahul Gandhi over its certain transaction.

"Government has all the powers. It can order any probe into the affairs of Young India. Our all accounts have been audited by Income Tax and returns filed with the Registrar..", party's chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala told reporters.

"A commercial loan had been taken and paid back," he said dismissing the controversy raised by the BJP alleging that the company had borrowed a sum of Rs one crore from a firm which was allegedly involved in converting black money into white.

Claiming that this was just the "tip of the iceberg," BJP had yesterday said that the "the first family" of Indian politics should provide answers to questions being raised by them.

Taking a dig at Finance Minister, Surjewala said Arun Jaitley, instead of leaking stories to television channels, should straight away order an inquiry.

Congress has been dismissing BJP's charges as baseless, contending that it was raising such issues as it sensed imminent defeat in Bihar Assembly elections.
