Congress leader Ramesh Meena today demanded that a "fair" probe be ordered into the rape case registered against National People's Party (NPP) chief Kirodi Lal Meena.
"The government should ensure a fair probe into the rape case registered against Kirodi Meena. It should not indulge in politics on the matter," he said at a public meeting in Karauli.
Ramesh also rebutted allegations that the case was registered at his behest and said "Kirodi Meena is tarnishing my image".
A woman had last month filed a police complaint alleging that Kirori Meena and 12 others had raped her. The NPP chief had termed it a political conspiracy by Congress.
The case is being probed by CB CID.
