Congress today flayed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his controversial 'ashamed of being born Indian' comment on foreign soil and said it was a "curse" to have a PM like him.

"When you said it is cursed to be Indian before you became the PM, we feel it is cursed to have a PM like you," All India Congress Committee Spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee said at a press conference.

Also criticising Modi for not raising the contentious issue of borders in Arunachal Pradesh, she said "in his recent visit to China, he was busy taking selfies. So he did not get time to raise the issue of Arunachal Pradesh. In fact, he offered e-visa to the Chinese. It's absolutely unprecedented."

The foreign visits by the prime minister were meant for the people of the country, but not for "personal gratification", she added.

"Even in western border with Pakistan, we had not such a situation in the recent past. The government is keeping silent. Terrorists are being released in Jammu and Kashmir, where BJP is a partner of the state government," Mukherjee said.
