A Congress delegation today met visiting Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampat and submitted a memorandum demanding transfer of some district and police officials, alleging that they would hamper free and fair conduct of Lok Sabha polls in the state.

The delegation was led by chairman of communication department of the party Satyadev Tripathi.

In the memorandum, copies of which were released to the media, Congress claimed that some district and police officials were working as "agents" of Samajwadi Party while some others were related to its leaders.

The delegation also requested that Special Task Force, which had been removed from Banda, should be deployed back there.

Through another memorandum, the party claimed that use of small flags on the bonnet of four-wheelers were permitted by the Commission, but the state police was removing them.

It requested that election officers should convey these orders to police officials.
