A Delhi Police Constable and his associate were arrested today for allegedly sexually assaulting a 40-year-old widow in South Delhi's Vasant Kunj area.
According to the police, the woman, a resident of Dehradun has alleged that 53-year-old Anil sexually assaulted her at a hotel in Mahipalpur.
Anil's friend Devender has been arrested under sections of criminal conspiracy. The victim has said that she knew Anil since the last three years.
The Constable has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been ordered against him, police said.
"As per the victim's complaint, she was taken to hotel Sheetal in a car by Devender. After reaching the hotel, Devender left after some time following which Anil sexually assaulted her," a police official said.
A case has been registered against the duo under sections 376 and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code at Vasant Kunj North police station and further investigations are on, police said.
