Constable commits suicide by jumping into river

A 30-year-old police constable allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Pindar river in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.

Dharampal, a resident of Rudraprayag district, jumped into the river from a bridge yesteday near Tharali area where he was posted, police said, quoting eyewitnesses.

It is being ascertained whether he was suffering from depression, they said, adding his body has not been found yet.
