Cop hit by PCR van succumbs

A Delhi Police head constable, who was hit by a PCR van in North Avenue on December 24, died during medical treatment at a hospital here.

Police said Suresh Chand, a resident of Pitampura, yesterday died at RML Hospital here, adding police have detained the accused PCR van driver.

On December 24, Suresh had been critically injured after being hit by a police control room (PCR) van that was attending to an emergency call on another accident in North Avenue area here.

The incident had taken place at North Avenue when Suresh, who was posted at Rashtrapati Bhavan security, was heading to his place of work on his motorcycle.
 

The PCR van was also heading to an accident spot from where it had received a call about a collision between a tractor and a car.
