Last Tuesday, the ACB had booked assistant police inspector Subhash Samant, police inspector Mahendra Nerlekar of Khar police station and three individuals -- Vicky Arora, Mahesh Kamble and Robin Gonsolves in the bribery case.
The ACB had laid a trap for Samant but he fled by jumping along with cash of Rs 20,000 and few property documents from the first floor of his flat at Carter Road in Bandra last Tuesday. The two policemen were later suspended and a hunt was launched for the accused, police said.
The complaint had been filed by an estate agent, who alleged that Samant and Narlekar had demanded Rs 50 lakh and the deed of a Bandra property to settle a rape complaint against him, which later turned out to be a fake criminal case, police said.
The duo told him that a 20-year-old woman had filed an application alleging that the estate agent spiked her drink and gang raped, police said.
