Copper prices drifted lower by 0.27 per cent to Rs 326.90 per kg in futures trade today as participants indulged in reducing positions, tracking a weak trend in base metals overseas.
Besides, muted demand from consuming industries in the spot market weighed on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November month shed 90 paise, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 326.90 per kg in business turnover of 1,723 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in far-month February next year eased by 80 paise, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 332.55 per kg in 24 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to weak trend in global market and fall in demand from domestic consuming industries, led to decline in copper prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three month retreated 0.2 per cent from a seven-week high at the London Metal Exchange.
