Copper up 0.2% on global cues

Metal for delivery in April was up by 0.19%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper futures recovered by 0.22% to Rs 372.10 per kg today as speculators enlarged positions largely in tandem with recovery in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month June rose by 80 paise, or 0.22%, to Rs 372.10 per kg, with a turnover of 15 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in April was up by 70 paise, or 0.19%, at Rs 367.35 per kg, with a trade volume of 1,599 lots.

Globally, copper for delivery in three months rose 0.4% to USD 5,844 per tonne on the LME.

Market analysts said besides fresh positions created by participants, tracking a rebound in global markets as investors look ahead to jobs data from the US and growth targets from China, the world's two biggest consumers of metals, influenced copper prices at futures trade here.
