Copper softens on weak global trend

Amid weak global cues and easing demand from consuming industries, copper prices softened by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today.
However, other base metals held steady in thin trade.
Traders said sentiment in copper turned bearish as it declined with metals, in global markets after data showed factory prices slumping in China.

Meanwhile, copper fell 0.6 per cent to Usd 5,337 metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange, after rising to its highest close since July 21.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap shed Rs 2 at Rs 358 per kg.

Zinc ingot Rs 106-112, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 911-916, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 358, Chadri deshi Rs 285.
Lead ingot Rs 98, Lead imported Rs 99, Aluminium ingots Rs 150, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 151, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 153 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 150.
