The seizure was made on the basis of information given by arrested 'deputy commander of Maoist platoon A' Badru Rajwanshi 'Sirsam' alias 'Dinesh' alias 'Krishna', a resident of Bhave village under Chuikhadan tehsil of Rajnandgaon district in neighbouring Chhattisgarh state.

The team recovered the explosives kept in a container beneath the ground on the roadside in villages Piperkhari and Dhamditola.

This is the third recent instance of hidden explosives being seized by the police.

District Superintendent of Police Dilip Zhalke confirmed the report and said the police will continue their operations against the Maoists.
