Cottonseed oilcake extended its slide with prices falling by another Rs 22 to Rs 2,243 per quintal on persistent selling by participants, tracking a weak trend at the physical markets.

Marketmen said fading demand and steady inflow of arrivals in the spot markets mainly hurt trading sentiments.

Besides, falling kapas prices too weighed on cottonseed oilcake prices, they added.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, cottonseed oilcake for delivery in most-active February was trading lower by Rs 22 or 0.97 per cent to Rs 2,243 per quintal, with an open interest of 76,920 lots.

Also, the commodity for delivery in far-month March contracts slipped by Rs 21 or 0.92 per cent to Rs 2,274 per quintal, having an open interest of 44,970 lots.
