Cottonseed oilcake prices strengthened by Rs 35 to Rs 2,615 per quintal in futures trading today after speculators covered-up their short positions amid a firming trend at the spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, cottonseed oilcake for delivery in far-month September contracts up by Rs 35, or 1.36 per cent to Rs 2,615 per quintal, having an open interest of 32,280 lots.
Also, the most-active delivery in August month contracts was trading higher by Rs 28, or 1.13 per cent to Rs 2,507 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 71,870 lots.
Marketrmen said besides covering-up of short positions by participants amid a firm trend at the spot markets on restricted supplies, mainly influenced cottonseed oilcake prices at futures trade here.
