Council: NCP retains Marathwada graduate constituency seat

NCP-Congress alliance candidate Satish Chavan retained the graduate constituency seat from Marathwada, defeating BJP-Shiv Sena candidate by over 15,000 votes in the election to the state Legislative Council.

37 percent of the voters exercised their franchise in the polling held on June 20. The counting of ballot papers took place today.

As many as 12,961 votes were found to be invalid.

Chavan defeated his nearest rival Shirish Boralkar of the BJP-Shiv Sena.
