Councillor consumes poison, tries to kill self in C'garh

A municipal councillor at Korba town in Chhattisgarh today tried to commit suicide by consuming poison after alleging harassment by police.

Santosh Kurre, councillor from Parsabhata ward of Korba Municipal Council has been admitted to the district hospital in a serious condition, police said.

According to police, they also found a suicide note in which he alleged that officials attached to Balco police station were harassing him.
