A man and his father were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court in Biora town in the district for murdering the former's wife in 2012.
Additionally, the First Additional Sessions Judge Shamroz Khan yesterday slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on Kailash Verma and his father Ramsingh.
The duo poured kerosene on the woman Shardabai following a family dispute, Additional Public Prosecutor O P Sharma said today.
Shardabai succumbed to her burn injuries on December 15, 2012, he said.
In her dying declaration, she blamed her husband and father-in-law for her ordeal.
