A court here today remanded Udayan Das, allegedly involved in killing his live-in partner Akanksha Sharma, in eight-days police custody.
Udayan, who was brought here on transit remand from Bhopal late last night, was produced amid tight security in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Arun Kumay Nandy which remanded him in eight days police custody.
A crowd which had gathered outside the court premises threw stones towards Das and demanded that he be given capital punishment.

Police, who had earlier booked Udayan for kidnapping Akanksha, also prayed for adding murder charges against him.
Earlier in the morning, the accused, who was kept at Bankura Sadar Thana lock-up last night, underwent medical check-ups before he was taken to the court.
"We did not disturb him at all. His (Udayan's) behaviour is completely normal. He woke up at 6:30 AM and had his breakfast," Bankura SP Sukhendu Hira said.
Udayan had allegedly killed Akanksha sometime last year and entombed her body in a platform of his house in Bhopal to hide the crime.
The incident came to light when West Bengal Police arrived in Bhopal in search of Akanksha following a complaint lodged by her father Shivendra Sharma.
According to police, Udayan had befriended the victim on a social media site. During interrogation, he confessed to his crime and said that in a fit of rage he strangulated Akanksha in the last week of December 2016 after a dispute.
During questioning, the accused also admitted to killing both of his parents and based on his confessions, police unearthed the skeletons from his Raipur home.
