The Communist Party of India (CPI) today celebrated its 90th foundation day here.
Andhra Pradesh CPI secretary K Rama Krishna hoisted the party flag at its state office and addressed the party cadre.
He said 'since the inception of the party, it has been struggling on behalf of the poor and depressed'.

The party has succeeded by implementing the land reforms and many labour laws by various governments both at the Centre and also in the states, he added.
Krishna further said that the party in Andhra Pradesh has taken up the issue of special status (to the state) and special packages for the backward regions as promised by the Centre at the time of passing the AP Re-organisation bill.
A rally was also organised by the party workers in the city.
