The CPI(M) has decided to bring all secular parties on one platform to fight against the BJP, a senior party leader said today.

"We have decided to bring all secular parties on a single platform to fight against the BJP, which is preparing to suppress the rights of the people," CPI(M) politburo member B Raghavulu told reporters here.

"If the nation does not contain the BJP at this stage, an Emergency era-like situation may arise again when the opposition parties were suppressed and their leaders thrown behind the bars," he alleged.

At its two-day 24th state conference here, the CPI(M)'s Andhra Pradesh unit passed five resolutions.

One of the resolutions condemned the "anti-labour" policies of the Centre and the AP government and sought the support of like-minded political parties and trade unions in the fight for workers' rights.
