CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat today condemned the gangrape of a photo-journalist in Mumbai and expressed worry over the security of women in the country.
"I am inexpressible at shocking incident. People (members) stall proceedings of Parliament on various issues, but when it comes to women's security the women are left to defend for themselves," Karat, the politburo member of the party, told reporters here.
She sought to know whether the law proposed after the gangrape of a medical student in Delhi last year would be used against the goons who perpetrated the heinous crime in Mumbai.
