Criminal escapes from police custody

Identified as Md Danish, the criminal escaped after dodging the escort party while he being taken to jail for judicial custody after production before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) B K Pandey in a theft case, police inspector Mundrika Prasad said.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconder.

Danish was arrested in a theft case from Deep Nagar police station area in the district yesterday, Prasad said.
