Criminal killed, two policemen injured in an encounter

A man wanted in more than a dozen criminal cases, including murder, was allegedly killed in a shootout today in the district, police said.

Nitin, who was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, was gunned down in the early hours of the morning while attempting a heist in Nagla Kabir village of the district.

Two policemen were injured in the shootout, while Nitin's accomplice fled the spot after sustaining bullet injuries, a police officer said.

Nitin was wanted in more than a dozen cases of murder and loot in Bulandshahr and Hapur districts of Uttar Pradesh, he added.
