Maximum temperatures in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today settled upto three degrees Celsius above normal even as at few places it was a notch below normal, in the region.
The mercury hovered between three degrees Celsius above normal to one notch below normal in the region, the MeT office said.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, settled at 36 degrees Celsius which was three notches above normal.

Ludhiana had a high of 35.7 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, while Patiala settled at 35.6 degrees Celsius.
Ambala registered a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.
Hisar and Amritsar had a maximum temperature of 34.6 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius respectively.
The MeT forecast said light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers are expected at some places in the region during the next 48 hours.
