In a relief for a 25-member group from the National Cadet Corps, the Defence Ministry has sanctioned its trip to Singapore after initial hiccups to take part in an International Youth Exchange Programme.
The NCC cadets, who were supposed to leave for Singapore on Wednesday, could not do so as the Defence Ministry sanction did not come.
However, now the sanction has been given and the students would be flying out soon for the two-week Conference which began on November 18.

Trying to play down the issue, defence sources said the actual conference will begin only from Monday and the students will be in Singapore by then.
"A 25-member #NCC group all set to take part in an International Youth Exchange Programme at #Singapore (sic)," Defence Ministry spokesperson Sitanshu Kar tweeted.
