Delhi Police commissioner chairs first crime review

Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik today held his first crime review with senior officials, wherein he batted for increased presence of the force on social media.

In the meeting attended by special commissioners, joint commissioners and district DCPs, Patnaik stated that the force should be more active on social media.

The different ways of strengthening the presence and interaction of Delhi Police on Twitter and Facebook was discussed at the meeting, sources said.

Even though most of the DCPs of the city are on social media, the coming days might see Delhi Police becoming proactive on social media, they said.
 

The discussions also revolved around crime prevention measures and formation of crime response teams.

It is being mulled that specific police teams be formed in every district to take care of fire incidents, building collapse etc, the sources said.

Patnaik also directed his officers to focus on curbing street crime and ensuring safety for women and children.
