Delhi post third straight win in women's senior nationals

Delhi have registered third straight victory by defeating Tripura 3-1 in the 20th Senior National Women Football Championship here today.

In a well-contested match, Delhi scored the opening goal in the 28th minute when captain Jyoti Burreet netted the ball.

Dalima Chibber extended the lead for Delhi in the 43rd minute to go into the break 2-0.

After the change of sides, Usha scored through a fine header in the 61st minute, passed from a corner by Jyoti Burreet.

Tripura scored the consolation goal before the final whistle.
