The Olympic Council of Asia has approved the establishment of five regional offices, including one in Delhi, at its General Assembly Meeting in Danang, Vietnam.

Delhi will be the regional office for South Asia zone, according to a statement from the OCA.

"The Olympic Council of Asia approved the road map for the future of the continent's Olympic movement at the 35th OCA General Assembly in Danang, Vietnam. The road map calls for a series of regional offices in the OCA's five zones," the OCA said.

"The following locations were accepted: Delhi, India for the South Asia zone; Almaty, Kazakhstan, for Central Asia; Bangkok, Thailand, for South East Asia; Kuwait for West Asia; Nansha, China, for East Asia, although the OCA is still finalising technical procedures for the Nansha office in southern Guangdong province," it added.

The OCA will also have a sub-office in Jakarta, Indonesia, to assist in the preparations of the 18th Asian Games in 2018, and also in the Olympic capital of Lausanne, Switzerland.

The General Assembly of the OCA was being held during the 5th Asian Beach Games currently underway in Vietnam.
