A 26-year-old Delhi University student, who had gone to Chennai on an educational trip, died after allegedly falling off a train in Madhya Pradesh, police said.
Promod Kumar, a third-year Hindi honours student from PGDAV college, had left for the trip on October 18, they said.
According to the police, the incident took place on Monday when their train had reached a town in Madhya Pradesh.

"The family of the deceased was informed about his death the same night. Post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family yesterday," a senior police official said.
Alleging foul play, the family members and local residents today staged a protest at Mathura road here, which led to heavy traffic jams in the area.
The family members alleged that it was a case of murder as the boy's belongings were yet not handed over to them, the official added.
