Delhiites today got some respite from the biting cold with the minimum temperature settling at 8.6 degrees Celsius, witnessing a rise of 4 degrees, even as 103 trains were affected.

However, flight operations were smooth.

"The minimum temperature recorded this morning was 8.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal. Moderate fog was witnessed in the morning," a MeT official said.

The visibility recorded at 8.30 AM was 1500 metres while the humidity was 81 per cent, he added.

According to a Northern Railway official, operations of 103 North-bound trains were affected due to fog.

"While 93 trains were running behind their schedule, 2 were cancelled and 8 rescheduled," he said.

The airport authorities, however, said that the operations were normal and no flights delayed.

The weatherman has predicted a clear sky ahead.

"The maximum is likely to settle at 21 degrees C," the official said.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 20 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.
