Demonetised notes seized, two taken into custody

The City police today seized nearly Rs three crore in now defunct high value currency and detained two persons for questioning.

The seizure was made at Nandambakkam here and the cash, comprising of the now demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1000, was recovered from a car, police said.

Two persons had been detained for interrogation, police said without divulging further details but said a detailed probe was on into the matter.
