A group of Bramhins, mostly priests of various temples, today staged a demonstration here protesting against the recent incident where some members reportedly belonging to Dravida Kazhakam cut the sacred thread of a 80-year old priest in a temple at Chennai.
Holding placards, the agitators raised slogan against the incident and sought a ban on Dravida Kazhakam, for indulding in activities against a community, police said.
Participating in the demonstration, founder-president of Kongunadu Jananayak Katchi G K Nagaraj also condemned the incident.
He cautioned that if such type anti-social activities were continued, his party would also demand for banning the Kazhakam, since these types o incidents were a serious threat to the social harmony.
