Vigilance officials today found properties worth Rs 1.12 crore in possession of Santosh Kumar Banchhur, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Rairakhol Forest Division, of Sambalpur district.
Armed with a search warrant, the sleuths raided five places of Banchhur following allegation that he possessed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, a vigilance statement said.
The places of raids were Banchhur's residential house at Kusimdegi village in Sundargarh district, a flat in Bhubaneswar, his father-in-law's house at Litibeda village in Sundargarh district, office at Rairakhol Forest Division, Sambalpur district and government quarter at Rairakhol.
"The total assets of Santosh Kumar Banchhur has been calculated as Rs 1,12,13,671 so far. The deposits in different banks could not be verified today," the release said.
