Popular Tamil actor Dhanush was today roped in as brand ambassador of Hero Indian Super League football tournament's brand ambassador for Tamil Nadu.
"Dhanush will promote the sport and the league for the millions of football enthusiasts in the state of Tamil Nadu. As a passionate football fan, Dhanush will be wearing his team colours of Chennaiyin FC during the domestic football league," a release said.
"The inaugural season of the Hero Indian Super League revolutionised Indian football and brought quality football action for millions of fans across the country. This year, the league promises to be more competitive and captivating. As a keen football fan, I am excited to be a part of the league and promote the sport amongst all my fellow fans in our own language," Dhanush was quoted as saying.
Defending Champions Atletico de Kolkata will take on Chennaiyin FC on October 3 in the inaugural clash.
