A militant of the outfit Dima Halam Daoga (DHD) was apprehended while three others managed to escape following an encounter with security forces in Assam's Karbi Anglong district.
The police was fired upon by a group of militants last night at Doyangmukh Nepali Basti area under Kheroni police station and an encounter followed in which one militant was apprehended and three others managed to escape, a police spokesman said here today.
The arrested militant was identified as Jigen Langthasa and search operations were on to nab the militants who managed to escape.
The police recovered an Ak-56 rifle with magazine, a mobile handset and a motorcycle, the spokesman added.
