The two leading power discoms BSES Rajdhani and BSES Yamuna have intensified crackdown on power theft across the city, registering more than 750 cases in the last few days.
Both the discoms have deployed 12 flying squads to detect power theft, particular in the night and early morning hours.
According to BSES officials, over 100 raids have been conducted during the night and early morning hours in the last few days and this has led to the detection of over 3330 KW of power-theft load and booking of more than 750 cases.

"These Flying Squads work in close coordination with the BSES Enforcement Teams. Each squad typically comprises of around 5-6 people depending on the area and heavily relies on analytics and physical verification to detect power-theft. Besides an engineer, a flying squad also consists of linesmen," said an official.
The drive against power theft will continue for a period of three-months and over 150 areas will be targeted across South, West East and Central Delhi.
BSES teams often come under attack from the unscrupulous elements during inspections.
"To protect them, many of the inspection teams during the night and early morning hours are accompanied by Delhi Police personnel," a discom's official said.
