DMK chief condoles death of pilgrims in stampede

DMK president Karunanidhi today condoled the death of over 700 pilgrims in the Saudi Arabia stampede and urged the State and Central governments to take immediate steps to bring home the bodies of three deceased from Tamil Nadu.

"I am deeply grieved at the news of the death of over 700 pilgrims and I convey my condolences to the bereaved families," he said in a statement.

"I urge the State and Central governments to take immediate steps to bring home the bodies of three persons who went to the pilgrimage from Tamil Nadu and also arrange for the safe return of all others," he said.
