Upping the ante against Union Minister V K Singh, Youth Congress activists today held a protest demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove him from the cabinet over his "dog remark" on the killing of two Dalit children in Faridabad at Haryana.

Scores of Youth Congress activists marched towards the BJP headquarters here and burnt the effigy of the Union Minister, a statement said.

Youth Congress termed Singh's statement shameful and asked the Prime Minister to sack the Minister of State for External Affairs for his controversial remarks on the Dalits kids, who were burnt alive in Sunpedh village of Haryana.

"Despite making controversial statements on Dalits, Union Minister Singh still enjoys the cabinet berth and backing of the top BJP leaders. This shows the endorsement of his 'dog' remark on Dalits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah," the statement quoting Youth Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja said.

IYC will launch a country-wide agitation if Modi does not sack Singh, the statement added.

Singh was at the centre of a controversy over his comments that the Centre cannot be blamed if somebody throws a stone at a dog to shield it from criticism for the Faridabad Dalit burning incident in which two children died.
