East Delhi hospital to be centre of excellence

A meeting of the Delhi cabinet presided by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit also decided to convert the hospital into an autonomous institution.

Officials said a society will be set up comprising officials of Delhi government and Union Health Ministry to run the hospital which is the first government hospital in the country to get the prestigious NABH accreditation from Quality Council of India.

"The decision to convert it into an autonomous institution will go a long way in making it a speciality and super speacility health care centre," said Dikshit.
