Elderly couple found murdered at home in UP

An elderly couple was found murdered this morning at their residence in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, police said here.

Locals found the bodies of Ram Kumar (65) and his wife Vishwakanti (62) lying in the verandah of their house in Harkhapur village under Murtiha police station area, they said.

The bodies of the couple, who used to live alone, had injury marks caused by sharp-edged weapon, they said.

A case of murder has been registered against unidentified persons, they said, adding that an investigation is underway.
