Elderly NRI woman dies in road accident

A 65-year-old NRI woman, who had come to India from Australia, to attend a family wedding was killed in a road accident near AIIMS in south Delhi, police said today.

The incident happened yesterday when the victim Sushma Dua was going to Gurgaon along with her sister and brother-in-law in a car, they said.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, which in turn hit a divider and rammed a street pole, police said.

The errant driver has been arrested, they said.

The elderly woman was sitting in the front seat and sustained severe head injuries causing her death. Her family in Australia has been informed, police added.
