The walkathon from old MLA Hostel junction to Hotel Japfu was flagged off by advisor Music Task Force and local MLA Neikiesalie Nicky Kire.
Later a function was held at Japfu Hotel to honour the elders.
October 1 is observed as International Day of Older Persons in pursuance of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution of 1990.
Older persons were also honoured at Mokokchung at a function at Town Hall organized by the district administration. PTI AP SUS
