Elephant dies of suspected electrocution

An elephant, believed to be 10 years old, has died of suspected electrocution in an agriculture field near Sirumugai in the district, police said Wednesday.

The carcass was found by the forest officials who have detained a farmer for interrogation as he had allegedly electrified the fence on the banks of the Bhavani river, the police said.
