Emergency reminds dictatorial attitude of Gandhi family: BJP

BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh today said that imposition of Emergency by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi reminds us of the "dictatorial attitude of the Gandhi family"

Addressing a seminar here, Chugh said that "the dictatorial tendencies were still prevalent in the family."

Chugh said the Emergency dealt a severe blow to the spirit of democracy in India when most important opposition leaders were put behind the bars.

Now, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ushered in an era of development and the Congress is trying its best to halt the wheel of progress, he said.
