Encounter in Kashmir, Army jawan injured

An army jawan was injured today in an encounter with militants in Pulwama district of Kashmir, police said.

The gunbattle broke out at Drabgam after security forces launched a cordon and search operation following information about presence of militants there, a police official said.

He said one army jawan sustained injuries in the exchange of firing between the two sides.

Further details of the incident are awaited, he added.
