An Excise Inspector and a constable were today arrested by the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000 in Churu district of Rajasthan.

Acting on a tip-off that Excise Inspector Vidhyadhar was demanding Rs 9,000 monthly from a liquor shop owner, ACB sleuths laid a trap, said IG, ACB Sachin Mittal.

"The shop owner, Surendra Singh, paid the amount to the Inspector, but he asked him to hand it over to a constable, also named Vidhyadhar. After the amount was handed over, our team raided the place and arrested both," he said.

The accused have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
